Head of Romanian Foreign Ministry confirms arrival of donated Patriot air defense system to Ukraine
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Luminița Odobescu confirmed that the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex has already arrived in Ukraine.
She wrote about it on the X social network (Twitter).
“I reconfirmed Romania’s commitment to Ukraine’s security. The Patriot air defense system donated by Romania has reached Kyiv. Need further support to safeguard Ukrainian energy security this winter. Romania is doing its part. Welcome EU new sanctions regime on the destabilizing RF actions abroad,” she wrote.
It will be recalled that Romania presented Ukraine with a Patriot air defense system. The President of the country, Klaus Iohannis, presented the relevant law on September 5.
On October 3, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Romania, Constantin Spinu, confirmed in a comment to Radio Svoboda that the Patriot system had arrived in Ukraine.
In addition, the Netherlands plans to send Ukraine three launchers for the Patriot air defense system. The country is also trying to find other elements to complement the air defense system.
