Poroshenko gets richer by UAH 2 billion in 2 months, now thanks to "blind trust"
In October, the leader of the European Solidarity, Petro Poroshenko, became richer by more than UAH 1 billion. Of this significant amount, the oligarch received almost UAH 824 million from the so-called "blind trust", the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) portal reports with reference to changes in the declarant's property status made on October 10.
On October 10, Petro Poroshenko included and declared UAH 823.7 million in dividends from the Swiss company Sequent Schweiz AG. This became the payment of dividends from the so-called "blind trust". This amount is almost three times more than last year.
For comparison: in 2023, the "blind trust" transferred UAH 329 million in dividends to the MP, in 2022 - UAH 905 million, in 2021 - only UAH 152.4 million. In addition, in October, the European Solidarity leader indicated other large incomes: UAH 213 million in the form of bond repayments and almost UAH 2 million from other sources.
The history of the blind trust dates back to 2016, when the world media simultaneously published a large investigation that revealed the involvement of many world leaders and famous people of various professions in hiding huge sums of money in offshore companies. Petro Poroshenko and putin were among them. The purpose of creating offshore companies was to minimize taxes by Poroshenko. After the scandal, the oligarch was forced to transfer his company Roshen to a "blind" trust. This allowed the MP’s company to work in russia even during the war. And in September 2024, Roshen shelves with candies were discovered on store shelves in the Kursk Oblast of russia.
As previously reported, Poroshenko became richer by one billion in just one month of the war. This is 125 times more than the oligarch earned a year before the russian invasion.
Also, according to the analytical report of YouControl, MPs from the European Solidarity party, of whom there are only 27 out of 401 in the parliament, became richer during the war by an amount greater than all other MPs combined.
In just a few years of the full-scale invasion, Poroshenko rose from the 12th to the 3rd place among the richest oligarchs, only Akhmetov and Pinchuk are richer than him.
