An An-3 cargo plane crashed during takeoff in the Republic of Sakha, in russian Yakutia. At that moment there were five people on board.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported this.

The An-3 cargo plane was supposed to fly on the route Olyokminsk - Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky - Ust-Kut. At 7 in the morning, during takeoff from the airport, its engine failed. The pilot tried to make an emergency landing, but he did not have time to reach the runway and fell 1.5 km from the city.

At the time of the plane crash, there were five people on board the plane: three crew members and two passengers (preliminarily, contractors of a gold mining company). One passenger was killed as a result of the plane crash.
