NATO Secretary General calls on Alliance members to ignore putin's nuclear threats
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that NATO allies should not be afraid of the nuclear weapons rattle of russian leader vladimir putin, because the alliance is strong and can respond to any threats. He said this in an interview with Sky News.
According to Rutte, the annual nuclear exercises of NATO member countries, which will begin next week, "send a clear signal to the adversaries that we stand ready to respond to any threat."
"NATO is strong. We can face any adversary. We have everything in place to make sure that NATO is safe and secure, and that we can fight off any threat. And we will never be intimidated by anyone outside NATO trying to threaten us. So that is of no use he (president of the russian federation vladimir putin - Ed.) could better stop that," said Rutte.
When asked whether NATO allies should listen to the "sabre rattling by Vladimir Putin", Rutte replied: no, they “should not and do not."
Recall that putin proposed to change the nuclear doctrine of the russian federation, allowing the use of nuclear weapons in the event of a UAV attack.
