Break in relations impossible: russia controls entire infrastructure of Armenia

The policy of "reorientation" of Armenia to the West is a fiction. The country is economically and politically connected with the russian federation, Telegraf writes.

On October 1, a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the russian analogue of the EU, was held under the leadership of the russian federation. The prime minister of the russian federation Mikhail Mishustin arrived in Yerevan for the meeting and was personally met by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

Earlier, on September 14, it became known about the resumption of military supplies: Moscow delivered missiles for the Smerch MLRS to Yerevan.

Armenia's economy, energy, food and transport security also depend on the Kremlin.

So, the Gazprom state company (russia) is the only gas supplier here. Its subsidiary Gazprom Armenia owns the entire gas distribution infrastructure of the country. Gas from the russian federation is supplied at a price of USD 165 per 1,000 cubic meters. In the event of a break in relations, gas for Yerevan will almost triple to USD 400. In Armenia, domestic sources provide only a third of energy needs. Electricity production here is carried out at the expense of nuclear power plant and hydroelectric power plants.

Electricity production here is also carried out at the expense of nuclear power plant and hydroelectric power plants. The Armenian nuclear power plant provides more than 30% of all electricity produced in the country. It is managed and maintained by Rosatom. Uranus is also from the russian federation.

The complex, which includes 8 hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 561.4 MW - the Sevan-Hrazdan Cascade - has been owned by International Energy Corporation CJSC since 2003 (the owner is the Tashir group of companies from the russian federation).

In addition, Armenia buys grain from russia. In 2023, 99.9% of wheat, flour and corn imports were from the russian federation. 98% of the country's oil is also imported from russia.

South Caucasus Railway is a subsidiary of russian Railways OJSC.

In 2022, the trade turnover between the russian federation and Armenia increased by 77% and reached USD 4.1 billion. In 2023 - USD 7.3 billion. In 2024, the trade turnover between the countries may already amount to USD 16 billion. All of the above proves that Armenia is a vassal of the russian federation, without which existence of the republic is impossible. The final break in relations with russia promises a collapse in Armenia.
