Boris Johnson tells for the first time about type of cancer that caused death of Queen Elizabeth II
In recent years, the Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, suffered from bone cancer. This was the reason for her death in September 2022.
Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson wrote about this in his memoirs, Politico reports.
According to him, he had known about the queen's illness for over a year. Politico writes that this is the first precedent when a high-ranking British politician speaks about a possible cause of death of the country's monarch. In official sources, the cause of the queen's death is still given as "death".
During the last meeting, Elizabeth II appeared to Johnson "paler and more stooped, with dark bruises on her hands and wrists, probably from drips or injections." Despite this, she was smiling, "unperturbed" and "fulfilling her last duty."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the death certificate of Elizabeth II, published by the National Archives of Scotland, states that the 96-year-old queen died "of old age."
On September 8, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain died. The monarch died at the age of 96. And on September 10, the son of Elizabeth II, Charles III, was proclaimed the new king.
