Instructor beat cadet with machine gun butt at training ground in Kirovohrad Region

Due to a conflict on the training ground, the instructor beat the cadet with the butt of a machine gun. The event took place on September 17 in the Kirovohrad Region.

The press service of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported this on Thursday, September 26.

The SBI stated that on September 17, a conflict arose between an instructor and one of the cadets during fire training classes.

"On September 17, 2024, as a result of a dispute, an official beat a serviceman with the butt of a machine gun. The cadet was hospitalized with injuries. The very next day, the Bureau's investigators initiated proceedings under Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code," the message said.

A pre-trial investigation is underway.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 14, four servicemen escaped from the training unit in the Rozdilne district of the Odesa Region and tried to cross the border with the Republic of Moldova on foot.

In March 2023, an officer of one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine beat a soldier in front of other soldiers.

On April 18, the SBI reported that an officer beat a conscript soldier in a military unit of Ivano-Frankivsk.
