US Congress starts investigation into Zelenskyy's visit to Pennsylvania
The Committee on Oversight and Accountability of the House of Representatives of the US Congress has launched an investigation into President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's flight to Pennsylvania to visit a munitions factory "at the expense of American taxpayers," its chairman, James Comer, said.
In particular, the congressman called the trip of the Ukrainian President "an election campaign of Kamala Harris" in a key state for her. He said the committee would request documents from the White House, the Department of Justice and the Pentagon.
The committee must determine "whether the Biden-Harris administration attempted to use a foreign leader to benefit Vice President Harris' presidential campaign and, if so, this is a clear abuse of power," chairman Comer wrote.
It will be recalled that sources close to Donald Trump said that he has no plans to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the US Congress demands the dismissal of Ukrainian Ambassador Markarova and accused her of meddling in the elections.
The Speaker accused Markarova of having organized Zelenskyy's visit to a factory in Pennsylvania, where weapons for Ukraine are produced. Zelenskyy was accompanied by representatives of the Democratic Party, but no Republicans were invited. Johnson said that Zelenskyy's visit was "clearly a pre-election campaign and clearly interference in the election."
