Finland and Sweden did not forbid striking with their weapons deep into russia
Finland and Sweden did not introduce any specific restrictions on the use of weapons supplied to Ukraine.
Finland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen and Sweden's Maria Malmer Stenergard only emphasized that weapons should be used in accordance with international law.
They said this during a joint briefing in Helsinki, Yle reports.
Thus, according to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Elina Valtonen, the only limitation is that the weapon must be used in accordance with international law.
At the same time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Maria Malmer Stenergard, said that the use of weapons is not limited to the territory of Ukraine - they can be used for attacks on the territory of the russian federation.
Previously, the leadership of Finland repeatedly stated that it does not limit the use of weapons provided to Ukraine. In May, during a visit to Stockholm, President Alexander Stubb confirmed that Finland approves the use of Western weapons for strikes on russian territory. According to him, this also applies to weapons transferred to Ukraine by Finland.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Bloomberg, citing a number of officials, reported that the U.S. is waiting for the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to provide a detailed strategy for striking deep into russian territory before agreeing to lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons for these purposes.
Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that his meeting with the President of the United States of America, Joseph Biden, will take place this month.
