Pentagon confirms that Iran transferred Fath 360 ballistic missiles to russia
The Pentagon has confirmed that Iran has transferred a certain number of short-range ballistic missiles to russia. Those were Fath 360 missiles.
The U.S. Department of Defense Press Secretary, Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder announced this at a briefing.
"The United States has confirmed reports that Iran has transferred shipments of Fath 360 close-range ballistic missiles to Russia, which we assess could employ them within weeks against Ukraine, leading to the deaths of even more Ukrainian civilians," he said, adding that right now, the department can't say how many missiles are involved.
Recall that earlier today, on September 10, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington intends to announce sanctions against Iran for supplying russia with missiles.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 6, The Wall Street Journal wrote that the U.S. had warned its allies that Iran had handed over ballistic missiles to russia.
Back in August, the Reuters agency reported that dozens of russian military personnel had arrived in Iran for training on Iranian missiles.
Besides, on September 8, a member of the Iranian parliament confirmed that Tehran had handed over missiles and drones to the russian federation. They were exchanged for wheat and beans.
