Prices increased by 0.6% in August
In August 2024, consumer prices rose by 0.6%.
This was announced by the State Statistics Service, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Including prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages in August increased by 0.9%, for clothes and shoes - decreased by 2.9%, for housing and utility services - increased by 0.2%, for services related to with health care - increased by 1.0%, for education - increased by 0.3%.
Compared to August 2023, consumer prices rose by 7.5% in August 2024.
In January-August 2024, inflation was 4.9%.
In August 2024, the core consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.7%.
In January-August 2024, the core consumer price index increased by 4.8%.
Core inflation is a sub-index of the consumer price index.
Core CPI (core inflation) is a part of inflation that reflects the dynamics of free prices without taking into account items whose prices are affected by administrative and seasonal factors.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July, inflation was 0.0%, core inflation was 0.7%.
Inflation was recorded at 5.1% in 2023, 26.6% - in 2022, 10.0% - in 2021, 5.0% - in 2020, 4.1% - in 2019.
In 2023, core inflation was 4.9%.
The state budget for 2024 foresees an increase in consumer prices (December to December of the previous year) - 9.7%.
