On the morning of Monday, September 2, the russians launched a combined attack on Kyiv, using more than 10 cruise missiles, about a dozen ballistic missiles and an attack drone.

This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko.

"The strike was combined - with cruise and ballistic missiles. The cruise missiles, (potentially Kh-101) were most definitely launched around three in the morning from the Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Saratov Oblast of the russian federation. These missiles entered Kyiv after complex maneuvers, from the southern direction. Simultaneously with the approach of cruise missiles to the capital, the enemy launched KN-24/Iskander-M ballistic missiles over Kyiv and its suburbs. To all this, there was also one strike unmanned aerial vehicle," Popko said.

He noted that air defense forces destroyed more than a dozen cruise missiles, about a dozen ballistic missiles and an attack drone in the capital's airspace.

"An incredibly large number of ballistic missiles at the same time! As a result of a missile strike on the city, debris fell in the Holosiyivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Dniprovskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. Previously, there were cars on fire and damage to non-residential premises. Data on the destruction and victims are being verified. The operative units are working on the ground! The air alert covered the entire territory of the country. Several groups of cruise and ballistic missiles entered the airspace of Ukraine. According to the monitoring channels, all the missiles, having performed maneuvers, are flying towards Kyiv. At 5:27 a.m., the Air Force reported repeated launches of ballistic missiles in the direction of Kyiv.
