Russian invaders capture 40% of Chasiv Yar - Defense Forces

Russian occupation forces currently control approximately 40% of the town of Chasiv Yar in the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk Region.

This was reported by a representative of the press service of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo Andrii Polukhin on the air "We - Ukraine".

"At the moment, the enemy controls the entire part of the town, which is located before Kanal. This is approximately 40% of the entire town," Andrii Polukhin said.

According to him, in the case of a complete capture of the settlement, the russians will be able to gain a tactical advantage at the height located above such large cities as Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk and the logistical route between them. This will be "a very dangerous thing in terms of the development of their success" in capturing the Donetsk Region within its administrative borders

"At the moment, the town of Chasiv Yar is broken. The enemy leaves a trace, as during the occupation of Avdiyivka and Bakhmut. These are just ruins. The enemy does not consider these territories its own, they simply destroy everything in their path," the defender concluded.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 14, the spokesman of the Khortytsia operational and strategic troops group, Nazar Voloshyn, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have every chance to dislodge the russians from Chasiv Yar.
