Heavy explosions ring out in Kyiv overnight; Shahed UAV debris falls in 3 districts; damage reported

Overnight into Thursday, August 29, explosions rang out in Kyiv during an air raid warning. The Kyiv City Military Administration said that air defense was working in the capital. Debris was recorded falling into the territory of residential buildings in the Dniprovskyi, Holosiyivskyi, and Desnianskyi Districts.

This was announced by the Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko.

At the site of the fall of Shahed, there was no damage or casualties, and no fire was detected.

Mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko reported that the debris fell on the playground between the houses.

Later, Popko reported that as a result of an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle in the Holosiyivskyi District of Kyiv, the wreckage of the drone fell into the territory of a residential building. Windows and doors were damaged in the apartment building. Information about the victims is being established. Emergency services arrived at the scene.

"According to the information of operational services, windows and doors in an apartment on the 6th floor of a residential building were damaged by debris in the Holosiyivskyi District of the capital.

A small fragment similar to a nut was found in the apartment. Emergency services are on the way. Information about the damage and the victims is being clarified," Klitschko said.

At 6:24 a.m., Klitschko announced that emergency services had been called to the Desnianskyi District, where, according to residents, the debris of the drone had fallen. Units are heading to the location.

Later, he added that a gazebo in a cottage town was on fire in the Desnianskyi District. Rescuers are heading to the scene. Information about the victims has not yet been received.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 26, a total of 15 regions were affected by a massive russian combined attack.
