It was one of biggest blows, energy industry suffered lots of damage - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called the russian strike on Ukraine on August 26 a combined attack and one of the largest attacks, targeting critical civilian infrastructure.

Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The consequences of the Russian attack are now being liquidated throughout the country. It was one of the largest strikes - a combined one. More than a hundred missiles of various types and about a hundred "Shaheds". And like most previous Russian strikes, this one is just as vile, targeting critical civilian infrastructure. In most of our regions, from the Kharkiv Region to Odesa and the western regions, there are casualties. My condolences to all relatives and friends - everyone is being given the necessary help," he said.

Zelenskyy said that there is a lot of damage in the energy sector, but wherever there is a power outage, restoration work is already underway.

He emphasized that there cannot be long-range restrictions in Ukraine, when terrorists do not have such restrictions.

"Putin is not deceiving himself: he is a sick creature - it has been clear to everyone for a long time. But it is also clear: he can only do what the world allows him to do. Weakness, insufficient decisions in response feed terror. And every leader, every one of our partners knows, what strong decisions are needed to stop this whole war, and to stop it justly. There can be no range restrictions in Ukraine, when the terrorists do not have such restrictions. There can be no restrictions on the weapons of the defenders of life, when Russia also uses its own weapons, both "Shaheds" and ballistics from North Korea. America, Britain, France, other partners have the power to help us stop terror," the President said.

Zelenskyy also noted that it is necessary to come to a joint shooting down of russian missiles and drones with partners.

"And it is very important that our partners implement what we agreed with them. Air defense systems, missiles for them. And also we must finally come to the joint shooting down of Russian missiles and drones. Today they had targets in our Volyn, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil Regions, we would be able to do much more to protect life if the aviation of our European neighbors worked together with our F-16s," he said.
