Russians claim that Ukrainian army destroyed bridge over Seym River in Kursk Oblast
Russian media claim that Ukrainian troops destroyed a bridge over the Seym River in the Kursk Oblast (russia).
Russian Telegram channels Astra, Baza and Mash write about this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Thus, the pro-government channel Mash declares that the Ukrainian army launched two missiles from the HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system on the bridge over the Seym River in the village of Glushkovo, Kursk Oblast.
It is noted that the bridge span was destroyed as a result of the impact.
Mash also published a photo of the destroyed bridge.
Russian media report that part of the Glushkovsky District (Tyotkino, Popovo-Lezhachi, Volfino and about 27 other settlements) is now cut off from the rest of the region, which is controlled by russian troops.
Evacuating civilians to russian-controlled territory is now only possible by water.
Also "military correspondent" Roman Alyokhin declares that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attacking another bridge over the Seym, which is located in the village of Zvannoe, 6 kilometers from Glushkovo.
He believes that the attacks on the bridges indicate the beginning of the operation of the Ukrainian military to establish control over part of the Glushkovsky District.
Meanwhile, the "military correspondent" Vladimir Romanov declares that in an hour and a half since the destruction of the bridge, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to advance 1.5 km in the Glushkovsky District.
The “Vazhnye Istorii ("Important Histories") Telegram channel notes that the bridge over the Seym River is the main route for the delivery of ammunition and food for the russian group in the area.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ukraine created the first military commandant’s office in the territory of the Kursk Oblast of russia controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On August 15, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that since the beginning of the operation in the territory of the Kursk Oblast, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have advanced 35 km deep into the territory of the russian federation, taking control of 1,150 square kilometers and 82 settlements.
