Prosecutor's office serves collaborator Saldo in absentia with suspicion of theft of 3,000 tons of Ukrainian grain

The Kherson regional prosecutor's office served Volodymyr Saldo, appointed by the occupiers as the "head" of the Kherson regional state administration, with the suspicion of stealing almost 3,000 tons of Ukrainian grain.

This is stated in the notification of the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"According to the investigation, the suspect became the so-called "governor" of the Kherson Region in 2022. As a high-ranking leader in the occupied territory, he exerted pressure on local business representatives and facilitated the capture and robbery of enterprises. In the fall of 2022, he ordered the creation of a temporary administration at the captured PrJSC "Kherson Bakery Products Plant" is an enterprise that was engaged in the storage, processing, and shipment of grain products for sea, road and rail transport. More than 30,000 tons of grain and industrial crops belonging to various business entities were stored in its warehouses,” the message reads.

According to the report, realizing the interests of the military-political leadership of the russian federation regarding the appropriation of property assets of individuals and legal entities of Ukraine, Saldo gave an order to take out grain from Kherson.

"As a result, the enemy managed to take the 2021 barley harvest, weighing more than 2,800 tons and worth almost UAH 15 million, from the occupied regional center to the territories under the control of the russian federation in three barges," the message reads.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in November 2023, the court sentenced collaborator Saldo in absentia to 15 years in prison.
