Ukraine receives USD 3.9 billion grant from USA
Ukraine received a USD 3.9 billion grant from the United States through the World Bank.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Telegram, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
These funds will help finance priority budget expenditures such as salaries of teachers, doctors and rescue workers, and social assistance.
This is the first tranche of direct budget support from the United States in 2024.
In total, Ukraine will receive USD 7.8 billion in direct budget aid from the United States this year, which will enable it to confidently pass this financial period.
Direct budget support from the USA since February 2022 has reached almost USD 27 billion.
The funds came through the World Bank project "Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance" (PEACE in Ukraine).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the beginning of July, Ukraine received USD 2.2 billion from the International Monetary Fund.
