Suspect in the murder of linguist Farion refuses to testify
Viyacheslav Zinchenko, the suspect in the murder of linguist/professor of Lviv Polytechnic Iryna Farion, has refused to testify in the case.
The lawyer of the suspect, Ihor Sulyma, said this in an interview with Ukrainian News.
"He refused to testify, citing Article 63 of the Constitution," the lawyer said.
According to him, his client had such a right and used it.
The defense attorney also added that, in his opinion, there is no evidence of his involvement, and the evidence base is dubious.
"Here is the evidence base for you. There is no gun, no things, nothing. As for the footage from the video cameras, it seems to me that there are two different people walking around. One walks like a goblin, excuse me, like a monkey with swinging arms, and the other - like an ordinary person," said Sulyma.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a suspect in the murder of linguist and former Verkhovna Rada member Iryna Farion was detained in Dnipro.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko told the details of the detention.
Regarding the suspect, he informed that he is an 18-year-old resident of Dnipro. Besides, while preparing for the crime, the suspect rented at least three apartments in Lviv.
