We must realize that any wars end with negotiation processes - Stefanchuk
"We must understand that the support that exists informationally must turn into financial, military support, as well as political support, at all levels that can be. But, we must realize another thing, that any wars end in negotiation processes. We have to be as well prepared as possible for these negotiation processes, because it is possible to negotiate only from the position of the strong," said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in an interview with Ukrainian News Agency.
According to him, Ukraine had a very high negotiating position when the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) began to push the russian federation away from the captured territories.
"And this is an example when it would be possible to conduct some negotiations, but again with whom? Ukraine cannot unequivocally conduct one-on-one negotiations with the russian federation. I always emphasize this, because the history of our relations shows that during throughout history, no matter how much we negotiated with the russian federation, we lost," Stefanchuk added.
According to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, one of the directions for negotiations is the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, when "Ukraine stands side by side with countries that respect international law."
"This alliance, this bloc can talk to the russian federation. And it must realize that only returning to international law, only atoning for its guilt, is the way to international order reigning in the world again," Stefanchuk is convinced.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 17, the advisor to the head of the President's Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, said that the aggressor country, russia, may be invited to the second Peace Summit.
Meanwhile, the US Department of State commented on Ukraine's idea of russia's participation in the second peace summit.
At the same time, the Kremlin's tough and uncompromising conditions for peace negotiations actually mean Ukraine's capitulation and testify to vladimir putin's reluctance to conduct honest negotiations on any terms other than russian ones.
