Energy Ministry notes improvements in energy system operation

The Ministry of Energy notes that the situation in the power system has significantly improved due to the fact that the national nuclear power generating company Energoatom completed the planned repair of the power unit ahead of schedule and connected it to the grid.

This follows from a statement by the Ministry, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Today (July 24), the start-up of the unit was actually felt by all of Ukraine. Until 4 p.m. there were no outages at all in Ukraine. In some regions, until 6 p.m. And tomorrow (July 25), the situation will be even better," the Minister of Energy noted Herman Halushchenko.

He noted that Energoatom's specialists, realizing the complexity of the situation, were able to complete all regulatory procedures two weeks earlier than planned.

"What the energy workers are doing today is really heroic work. Because the issue is not simple - to shorten the repair campaign. And to shorten it in this way, in compliance with all the requirements of nuclear and radiation safety," the minister emphasized.

According to him, an unprecedented repair campaign is underway throughout the country, which significantly exceeds last year's volume of work.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 24, Energoatom launched the second NPP power unit in July after repairs.
