Czech Republic joins "drone coalition" for Ukraine

The Czech Republic has joined the coalition to provide Ukraine with drones, which is led by Latvia and the United Kingdom.

It was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Latvia.

The Czech delegation signed a memorandum of understanding during the NATO summit in Washington on July 11.

After the Czech Republic joined, the number of coalition participants increased to 16.

"Each coalition member country can make a significant contribution to Ukraine's efforts, as well as support the development of its national industry," Latvian Defense Minister Andrius Sprūds emphasized.

Recall, Latvia will hand over 2,500 drones to Ukraine in July. Drones of different types and different purposes were produced by seven Latvian companies. The total cost of the systems is about EUR 4 million.

Besides, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský said that thanks to the Czech initiative, 100,000 shells will be delivered to Ukraine in July and August.
