Energoatom connects 1,000-capacity power unit to power grid after repairs, situation with electricity will improve

The Energoatom national nuclear energy generating company has connected the 1,000-capacity power unit to the power grid after planned repairs, this will strengthen the domestic power grid, and the situation with electricity will improve.

This is stated in the message of Energoatom in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"To fulfill the task of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Energoatom connected another power unit to the power grid ahead of schedule - after overloading nuclear fuel and planned equipment repairs. Thanks to the prompt actions of Ukrainian nuclear workers, the return of the power unit to regular mode will significantly strengthen the domestic power grid," the message says.

Energoatom emphasizes that, taking into account the difficult situation in the energy sector, the company's specialists make maximum efforts to promptly carry out planned and preventive repairs, provided that the necessary quality of work is ensured.

It is noted that all other power units of the company, which are located in the territory under the control of Ukraine, are operating in the planned mode.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the press service of Ukrenergo reported that on Wednesday, July 17, hourly power outage schedules will be in effect in all regions of Ukraine throughout the day, with the largest volume of electricity restrictions being from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

On July 16, the Ukrenergo national energy company reported that on the night of July 16, an equipment failure occurred at one of the energy facilities, the energy deficit in the system increased, and emergency power outages were applied in 7 regions.
