Republicans officially nominate Trump as their candidate for US presidency

At the national congress of the Republican Party of the USA, Donald Trump was officially announced as the candidate for the presidency of the USA.

The party convention was held in Milwaukee. However, the official announcement of the candidate was more of a formality: Trump had been the expected nominee for several months. The congress delegates voted for his candidacy at the congress. Trump's son Eric announced the results of the vote.

It will be recalled that during a pre-election rally in the state of Pennsylvania, Donald Trump was shot while he was on stage. The incident is being investigated as a possible attempted murder.

A spectator was killed during the shooting. The shooter was eliminated.

Trump later screamed that he should have died in the attack, but was distracted in time and the bullet missed. He also explained that immediately after the shooting, he wanted to continue his performance on stage, but the secret service took him out.

However, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the criminal case against former President Donald Trump for illegally keeping classified documents after leaving office.
