Ukraine receives emergency assistance from the energy systems of 2 EU countries
On July 4, Ukraine received emergency aid from the energy systems of Poland and Slovakia.
This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Energy posted on its Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Due to massive russian shelling, there is a capacity deficit in the power system. Last day, to partially cover it, Ukraine additionally attracted emergency aid from the power systems of Poland and Slovakia. Today, hourly consumer shutdown schedules are applied from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please note that the main reason for the restrictions - enemy attacks on the energy infrastructure and the negative consequences of these attacks," the message reads.
At the same time, power outages are not provided for critical infrastructure enterprises, as well as enterprises that import 80% of electricity for their needs.
Also, according to the report, equipment caught fire at one of the substations in the Donetsk Region as a result of enemy shelling.
As a result of bad weather, 45 settlements in four regions remain without power on the morning of July 5.
In particular, there are 20 settlements in the Kyiv Region, 18 in the Chernihiv Region, five in the Kirovohrad Region, and two settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk Region.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 3, Ukraine also received emergency aid from the energy systems of Poland and Slovakia.
Ukraine has lost 9 GW of capacity since the end of March due to russian shelling.
