Expenditures of general fund of state budget in May UAH 311.6 billion

For January - May 2024, the total amount of cash expenditures of the general fund of the state budget is UAH 1,257.9 billion, which is UAH 114.7 billion or 10% more compared to the same period last year.

The Ministry of Finance has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Of those, UAH 311.6 billion was spent in May.

In the structure of expenditures the most was directed on the following:

- UAH 494 billion - for remuneration with accruals (in May - UAH 105.6 billion), or 39.3% of the total expenditures spent for January - May 2024 (compared to the same period last year, they increased by UAH 23.4 billion, or by 5%). In particular, UAH 377.2 billion was allocated for the monetary maintenance of military personnel (UAH 79.8 billion in May);

- UAH 204 billion - to pay for the use of goods and services (in May - UAH 63.7 billion), or 16.2% of the total expenditures, of which:

* UAH 101.3 billion - to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the purchase of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, defense products, personal protective equipment (helmets, body armor and other special equipment), fuel lubricants, food;

* UAH 62.5 billion - the National Health Service of Ukraine transferred for the implementation of the program of state guarantees of health care for the population;

- UAH 236.6 billion - for social security (payment of pensions, benefits, scholarships) (in May - UAH 49.3 billion), or 18.8% of the total expenditures, which is UAH 14.8 billion, or 6.7% more compared to the same period last year. Including:

* UAH 113.9 billion - transfer to the Pension Fund to provide financial support for the payment of pensions, allowances and increases to pensions;

* UAH 48.8 billion - for payment by the Ministry of Social Policy for the social protection of children and families, protection of citizens in difficult life circumstances, to support low-income families;

* UAH 23 billion - for payment by the Ministry of Social Policy of housing subsidies and benefits to citizens for the payment of housing and communal services, the purchase of solid and liquid furnace domestic fuel and liquefied gas;

- UAH 101.7 billion - for servicing the state debt (in May - UAH 37.2 billion), or 8.1% of the total volume (compared to the same period last year, they increased by UAH 17.9 billion, or by 21.3%);

- UAH 65.3 billion - for transfers to local budgets (in May - UAH 14.5 billion), or 5.2 of the total volume (compared to the same period last year, they increased by UAH 3.3 billion, or by 5.4%).

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in January-April of this year, the total amount of cash expenditures of the general fund of the state budget made UAH 946.3 billion.
