May inflation 0.6%
In May 2024, consumer prices rose by 0.6%.
This is stated in the report of the State Statistics Service, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In particular, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages in May increased by 0.9%, for clothes and shoes - decreased by 1.5%, for housing and utility services - increased by 0.1%, for services related to with health care - increased by 0.9%, and for education - increased by 0.1%.
Compared to May 2023, consumer prices rose by 3.3% in May 2024.
In January-May 2024, inflation made 2.0%.
In May 2024, the core consumer price index increased by 0.3%.
In January-May 2024, the core consumer price index increased by 2.8%.
Core inflation is a sub-index of the consumer price index.
The core CPI (core inflation) is a part of inflation that shows the dynamics of free prices without taking into account items whose prices are affected by administrative and seasonal factors.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, in April 2024, consumer prices rose by 0.2%, and the core consumer price index increased by 0.7%.
In 2023, inflation was recorded at 5.1%; in 2022 at 26.6%; in 2021 at 10.0%; in 2020 at 5.0%; in 2019 at 4.1%.
In 2023, core inflation was 4.9%.
The state budget for 2024 provides for an increase in consumer prices (December over December) - 9.7%.
