Trading volume on Perspektyva exchange up 2 times to UAH 22.2 billion in May
In May, a total of 19,250 deals worth UAH 22.22 billion (+93% to April 2024) were concluded on the Perspektyva stock exchange since the beginning of the year – 72,490 deals worth UAH 70.60 billion (+11% against the first four months of 2023).
This follows from a statement by the Exchange, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In total, 42,460 deals worth UAH 75.1 billion (+33% against April 2024) were concluded on the stock exchanges of Ukraine in May; since the beginning of the year, 176,110 deals worth UAH 269.4 billion (+44% against the first five months of 2023).
In May, at the Perspektyva stock exchange and the stock exchanges of Ukraine in general, the maximum monthly trading volume during the period of full-scale aggression was recorded.
Since the beginning of the year, the structure of trading on the Perspektyva stock exchange has traditionally been dominated by debt instruments: government bonds – 93.99%, bonds of enterprises, foreign issuers, and states – 6.01%.
On the exchange stock market in general, trading is also observed mainly in the debt segment: government bonds - 92.08%, bonds of enterprises, foreign issuers, and states - 7.14%, shares, and collective investment institutions’ securities - 0.78%.
The share of the Perspektyva stock exchange in the first five months is 26% in the total exchange turnover, including for government bonds 27%, for bonds of enterprises, foreign issuers, and states - 22%, and in the total number of transactions - 41%.
The volume of trading on the Perspektyva stock exchange increased by 11% year over year, and the number of transactions increased 2.3 times.
In May, contracts on the Perspektyva stock exchange were concluded with 48 financial instruments (+4 against April) from the beginning of 2024 - with 71 (+19 against the first five months of 2023).
As of May 31, 2024, the number of securities and other financial instruments admitted to trading on the Perspektyva stock exchange was 266, of which 158 were listed.
Structure of issues (series) by types of financial instruments: 172 - government bonds and government derivatives (158 - domestic, 14 - foreign loans), 57 - other bonds (23 - corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers, 8 - corporate bonds of foreign issuers, 26 - bonds of foreign countries), 30 – shares (17 – Ukrainian issuers, 11 – foreign issuers, 2 – corporate investment funds’ shares), 7 – investment certificates.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April, a total of 13,810 deals worth UAH 11.54 billion (-9% to March 2024) were concluded on the Perspektyva stock exchange since the beginning of the year – 53,040 deals worth UAH 48.38 billion (+14% against the first four months of 2023).
