The United States of America and Ukraine will perform an observation flight over the territories of Russia and Belarus between March 30 and April 4, reads a statement made by the press service for the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation citing head of Russia's National Nuclear Risk Reduction Center Sergey Ryzhkov.
"Between March 30 and April 4, 2015, as part of realisation of the international open skies agreement the USA mission with participation of Ukraine's representatives plan to perform an observation flight over the territory of the participating states Republic of Belarus and Russian Federation on an American observation aircraft ОС-135В," it said.
The planes and the observation equipment installed on them (aerophotographical cameras) passed international certification which implies application of servicing equipment envisaged by the open skies agreement.
This plane is of a class not meant for employment of any weapons.
As Ukrainian News reported, on February 18, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an action plan for implementation of three European Union directives on nuclear regulation and safety.
