Ukrainian News Agency learned this from his interview.

Former chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Region State Administration Ihor Kolomoiskyi says that former chief executive officer of the state oil transporting company Ukrtransnafta, Oleksandr Lazorko, who is currently wanted, has intention to receive political asylum in Britain. Ukrainian News Agency learned this from his interview for LB.ua.

"Lazorko fled Ukraine long ago, he is now formalising political asylum in London. As far as I know he is working with migration lawyers. The case against him is political persecution because he was part to a political concert made during my resignation," he said.

The businessman once more underlined that Lazorko's decision to pump out process oil from sections of the company pipelines in 2014 deserved well; Kolomoiskyi-affiliated companies are still storing this oil in their facilities.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrtransnafta's Supervisory Board on March 19 decided to suspend Lazorko and appointed Yurii Miroshnyk as interim CEO instead.

Lazorko received support from Kolomoiskyi, then chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Region State Administration who turned up in Ukrtransnafta's office on March 19 night, where Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn, Lazorko and Miroshnyk met.

In September, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) put Lazorko on the wanted list.
