​Germany Grant EUR 3 Million More For UNHCR To Provide Aid To IDPs In Ukraine

The project contributes to meeting the IDPs' basic needs.

Germany will grant EUR 3 million more for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide aid to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ukraine, reads a statement made by the press service for the German Embassy to Ukraine.

"The Federal Government of Germany will finance the project Humanitarian Aid and Protection of Internally Displaced and Other Vulnerable Persons Hit by Ukraine Crisis UNHCR has been implementing since the start of 2015 with an extra EUR 3 million," it said.

Together with the EUR 1 million support already assigned by the Federal Government total German funds for this UNHCR project will be EUR 4 million this year.

The objective of the project that started in January 2015 is improving the living conditions of the population, specifically IDPs, suffering from the conflict in the east of Ukraine.

The project contributes to meeting the IDPs' basic needs.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, First Vice Prime Minister / Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Economy Hennadii Zubko favours the ides of cresting a diversified trust fund with the participation of international donors to resolve the problems of IDPs' employment.
