The Rostov Regional Court (Russia) will determine territorial jurisdiction in the case against Parliamentary Deputy Nadia Savchenko of the Batkivschyna faction. Nikolai Polozov, one of the lawyers for Savchenko, announced this on Twitter.
"The Donetsk municipal court has granted the defense's motion to refer the case to the Rostov Regional Court to determine jurisdiction," he said.
The Donetsk municipal court (Rostov region of Russia) began preliminary hearings in the case against Savchenko at a closed session earlier on Thursday.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Russian Prosecutor-General's Office sent the criminal case against Savchenko to the Donetsk city court in the Rostov region on July 13.
The Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry has protested against the decision to try Savchenko in Donetsk, Rostov region.
