The Kyiv Pecherskyi District Court has authorized the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) to launch an investigation against ex-president Viktor Yanukovych in absentia.
Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin announced this at a news briefing.
He said the Prosecutor General's Office was also seeking permits for investigation in absentia against Serhii Arbuzov, Oleksandr Klimenko, Andii Ihnatov, Raisa Bohatyriova, and Oleksandr Staschenko.
On July 23, the court upheld this procedure against Bohatyriova and on July 24 against Ihnatov.
As Ukrainian News reported, the Kyiv's Pecherskyi district court ordered detention for former Health Minister Bohatyriova in absentia on March 20.
