The Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company has restored gas supply to the anti-terrorist operation zone, Naftogaz of Ukraine Board Chairman Andrii Kobolev said at a news briefing.
"The gas transmission system has been severely damaged... Ukrtransgas did its utmost to ensure gas supply in the whole territory of Ukraine. The restoration operations are still underway. Today we have faced serious difficulties as the repair teams could not get to the gas pipelines during the recent 5-8 hours and fully restore the gas supply to the anti-terrorist operation zone," he noted.
Kobolev stressed they have launched the pipelines with sufficient supply volumes to maintain normal gas pressure.
As Ukrainian News reported, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company explained gas supply disruption to the anti-terrorist operation zone from February 18 by severely damaged gas transmission infrastructure.
The Russian gas monopolist, started natural gas supply to the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company via Prokhorovka and Platovo gas metering stations located at the border with the anti-terrorist operation zone from 15:00 February 19.
The Ukrtransgas company, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transmission system, claimed that shelling damaged Novopskov-Kramatorsk trunk gas pipeline section (Donetsk region) on February 17.
