The Ministry of Defence says that militants have intention to take Debaltseve and Mariupol of Donetsk Region before February 15, Deputy Defence Minister Petro Mekhed has told journalists.
"Separatists and Russian Federation troops have received a task, as far as I know, to raise the flag [of Russia] in Debaltseve and Mariupol [before February 15]. Respectively, we anticipate escalation and are taking all necessary measures to repel these attacks," he said.
Mekhed underlines, by Friday noon ATO forces had already rebuffed militants' three attacks on Debaltseve.
In his words, military form the Russian Armed Forces are taking immediate part in the attacks.
As Ukrainian News reported, on February 12, President Petro Poroshenko, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Francois Hollande of France agreed a package of measures to fulfill the 'Minsk accords'.
Putin says an agreement was reached to cease fire in Luhansk and Donetsk Regions from 00:00 of February 15.
