The hryvnia exchange rate in the interbank currency market fell by 60 kopecks to 15.40 UAH/USD on Monday, after falling by 63 kopecks on Friday, currency exchange market players told Ukrainian News.
According to them, the hryvnia rate fluctuated in the range of 14.80-15.20 UAH/USD at the start of trading, rose to 15.00-15.38 UAH/USD by 11:50, and to 15.35-15.80 UAH/USD by the end of trading.
According to participants in the currency market, most of the transactions were concluded at an exchange rate close to 15.40 UAH/USD.
Under the NBU data, as at 15:30 a total of 125 deals were concluded for USD 561.81 million at the average weighted exchange rate of 14.9252 UAH/USD in the interbank.
Since the beginning of 2014, the hryvnia rate has decreased by 86.15% from 8.2730 UAH/USD to 15.40 UAH/USD in the interbank currency market.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in 2013 the hryvnia rate fell by 2.77% from 8.0500 UAH/USD to 8.2730 UAH/USD in the interbank currency market.
The hryvnia rate fell by 0.12% from 8.0400 UAH/USD to 8.0500 UAH/USD in the interbank currency market in 2012, and by 0.94% from 7.9650 UAH/USD to 8.0400 UAH/USD in 2011.
