The International Monetary Fund has decided to disburse USD 1.4 billion to Ukraine as second tranche of the Stand-By Arrangement loan, Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk wrote on Facebook.
"The IMF Executive Board has passed unanimous decision to provide another tranche of budgetary support to Ukraine," he wrote.
The money is expected to be transferred on September 3; USD 400 million will be used to replenish foreign currency reserves and USD 1 billion to cover the state budget deficit.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on April 30 the IMF Executive Board approved a two-year Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) for Ukraine, and in early May provided the first tranche of USD 3.19 billion.
Ukraine will ask the IMF to provide third and fourth tranches combined into one of USD 2.2-2.3 billion and obtain it by the yearend 2015.
