Terrorists have killed Lithuania's Honorary Consul in Luhansk Mykola Zelenets, Foreign Affairs Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius twitted.
"I have just learnt with deep sorrow that Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Luhansk Mykola Zelenets was kidnapped and brutally killed by terrorists in Luhansk," Linkevicius stressed.
Zelenets was a citizen of Ukraine, a Luhansk businessman, producer of fire-fighting equipment, the minister said.
Zelenets represented Lithuania in Luhansk and in the region, Linkevicius added.
As Ukrainian News reported, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine stated a total of 1,026 people kidnapped or seized hostages in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions during the anti-terrorist operation.
