President Petro Poroshenko has signed into law the bill allowing police officers to use fire weapons without warning in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone, reads a statement made by the presidential press service.
Relevant amendments have been made to the Law on Police.
Moreover, the parliament has enabled the police to apply physical force and impact means in the ATO zone.
Before using force, impact means or fire weapons it is necessary to warn about such intention if circumstances allow.
Without warning police can use physical force, impact means and weapons when emerges immediate menace to life or health of citizens or policemen.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on August 12 the Verkhovna Rada allowed police officers to use fire weapons in the ATO zone.
Draft law No.4310a as basis and as a whole received votes of 228 Members of Parliament, while 226 votes enough for approval.
