11:47 The antiterrorist operation forces have taken control over Savur-Mohyla (Donetsk region), press service of the Presidential Administration has said.

According to the report, President Petro Poroshenko expressed confidence in success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and said that liberated territories will soon see restoration of peaceful life.

On July 24 antiterrorist operation forces raised state flag over the Lysychansk city council (Luhansk region).


12:49 United Nations human rights monitoring mission says a total of 1,129 people were killed and 3,442 were wounded in the course of combat operations in the east of Ukraine, head of the monitoring mission Armen Arutiunian said.

The UN estimated the number of people, who temporarily moved from the east of Ukraine and from Crimea at 101,617 people.

At that 86% of the number are emigrees from the eastern regions.

UN intends to assist Ukraine in restoration of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

16:23 The Ministry of Energy and the Coal Industry estimates the losses of the Ukrainian energy industry as a result of the annexation of the Crimea by Russia at USD 300 billion.

Minister of Energy and the Coal Industry Yurii Prodan announced this in an interview with the Hlavkom publication.

"Considering all the energy facilities in the Crimea, we can talk about hundreds of billions of dollars that Ukraine lost in the energy sector. We have calculated it, and it is about USD 300 billion," he said.

According to Prodan, the potential reserves on the Black Sea shelf are up to about 2.3 billion tons of hydrocarbons.

The minister also stressed that electricity supplies to the Crimea will be limited if there are power shortages in continental Ukraine during the autumn-winter heating season as a result of failure of power installations due to the fighting in the Donbas.

Ukraine estimates its losses from the Russian annexation of the Crimea at UAH 950 billion.


16:25 Twenty-three fighters with the Aidar territorial defense battalion were killed during the government's "anti-terrorist operation" (ATO) on July 27.

The press service of the battalion announced this on Facebook.

According to the announcement, the battalion's units have participated in three different operations in various areas around the town of Lutugino (Luhansk region) in the past 24 hours.

Each of the units suffered losses.

Four border guards were killed and two injured during the ATO on July 27.


17:17 Power supplies to the Avdiivka byproduct coke plant (Donetsk region), the largest coke producer in Ukraine, has been cut as a result of fighting.

The press service of the Metinvest group announced this to Ukrainian News.

The press service did not provide further details.

The Avdiivka byproduct coke plant was shelled on July 21 but it resumed operation on July 24.

The Avdiivka byproduct coke plant is the largest coke plant in Europe.


17:23 Russia's Federal Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Communications Supervision Service (Roskomnadzor) has added the ex.ua file-sharing website to the register of websites that are banned in Russia.

This was announced in a statement on the website of Roskomnadzor.

The ex.ua website was added to the register of banned websites on July 23.

No further details were provided.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Interior Affairs suspended the operations of the ex.ua file-sharing website in early 2012 as part of a criminal investigation into copyright violations by the website.


17:36 The Federal Service on Customers' Rights Protection and Human Well-Being Surveillance (Rospotrebnadzor) has banned import of Ukraine-made canned fruits, vegetables and fish, the Rospotrebnadzor said in the press-release.

The products of Shevchenko agricultural limited liability company (Veres), Odesa cannery public joint stock company, Nizhyn cannery limited liability company, Vinnytsia Vintar package plant Ltd, Alfa-Eteks Ltd, and Pivdennyi PKK Ltd. do not meet the requirements for labeling, mass faction, the content of protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, and iron under "energy value" and organoleptic characteristics, as well as salt products, the press-release stressed.

Rospotrebnadzor prohibited entry in the territory of Russia of products made by the Lozova dairy factory (Kharkiv Region).
