All high-ranking officials since independence will receive status of PEP with financial monitoring - Vasylevska-Smahliuk
Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, MP from the Servant of the People faction Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk has said that all high-ranking officials from the time of independence will receive the status of Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) with financial monitoring.
The press service of the Servant of the People party has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The status will apply to those who have held or hold high positions since the independence of Ukraine. There are several thousand of these people, taking into account all the convocations of parliament, the composition of the government," the MP said.
According to her, we are talking about the increased control of "old" officials only for those operations that were carried out after the entry into force of the law, that is, there will be no challenges to previous transactions.
She recalled that the PEP status will be received only by officials of category "A": the President, the head of the Office of the President, the Prime Minister, all ministers, their deputies, Members of Parliament, heads of key courts, heads and deputies of the SSU, heads of the prosecutor's office and local prosecutor's offices, heads of the NBU, heads of state-owned companies, heads of supervisory boards.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the heads of all political parties and civil servants (category "A") are considered Politically Exposed Persons, so lifetime financial monitoring is introduced for them.
