Parents and adult children of high-ranking officials - PEPs will receive status of related person - MP
Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, MP from the Servant of the People faction Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk has said that parents and adult children of high-ranking officials who are considered Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) will receive the status of a related person.
The press service of the Servant of the People party has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Close relatives of a public person - parents or adult children - have the status of a related person, and not the status of PEP," Vasylevska-Smahliuk was quoted as saying.
It is noted that the primary financial monitoring subject will independently decide whether to subject them to control.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Vasylevska-Smahliuk said that the status of Politically Exposed Persons with financial monitoring will be received by all high-ranking officials since independence.
Heads of all political parties and civil servants (category "A") are considered Politically Exposed Persons, so lifetime financial monitoring is introduced for them.
