AFU partially succeeds south of Robotyne. Occupiers continue their attempts to surround Avdiyivka

The russian army continues its attempts to encircle Avdiyivka in the Donetsk Region and attacks on all axes in the east and south, but they have no success.

Over the past 24 hours, a total of 55 combat clashes took place at the front, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported in the morning briefing on October 24.

In the zone of responsibility of the North Operational and Strategic Troops Group on the Volyn and Polisskyi Axes, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi Axes, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, carries out active sabotage activities, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the border in the Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group in the Kupiyansk Axis, Ukrainian troops repelled about five enemy attacks in the area of Ivanivka, Kharkiv Region.

On the Lyman Axis, the soldiers of the AFU are firmly holding the defense, successfully repelling all russian attacks near Nadia, Luhansk Region.

On the Bakhmut Axis, the Defense Forces repelled all attacks by the occupiers in the areas of Bohdanivka, Khromov, Klishchiyivka, and Andriyivka settlements of the Donetsk Region.

"The defense forces of Ukraine continue their assault south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk Region, inflict losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, and consolidate on the achieved borders," the military command noted.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Troops Group on the Avdiyivka Axis, the enemy does not stop trying to surround Avdiyivka, actively uses aviation, but the Ukrainian army holds its defense firmly and inflicts significant losses on the occupiers. The offensive actions of the russians in the districts of Keramik, Stepove, Avdiyivka, and Tonenke of the Donetsk Region were unsuccessful, where more than ten attacks were repulsed.

On the Mariyinka Axis, the enemy carried out assaults in the Mariyinka and Pobeda Districts of the Donetsk Region without success. About 15 attacks were repelled here.

On the Shakhtarsk and Zaporizhzhia Axes, the AFU repelled all attacks by the occupiers near Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk Region and southeast of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia Region.

"At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation on the Melitopol Axis, had partial success south of Robotyne, are causing losses in manpower and equipment to the occupying forces, and are exhausting the enemy along the entire front line," the General Staff emphasized.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational and Strategic Troops Group in the Kherson Axis, the Defense Forces are conducting a counter-battery fight, causing fire damage to the enemy's rear.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation made seven strikes on areas where the enemy's personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, and three on russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Units of the missile forces hit eight artillery pieces, four areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, an electronic warfare station, and an enemy pontoon-bridge crossing, and also carried out remote mining of terrain in two areas.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on Monday, October 23, the General Staff of the AFU reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the losses of the russian federation had increased to approximately 294,700 people killed.

Also, the russian occupiers lost more than 40,000 units of ground, air, and sea equipment during almost two years of full-scale war.

In September, the Ministry of Defense reported that russia continues its covert mobilization. Since the beginning of the year, up to 100,000 people have been recruited into the ranks of the russian army in this way.
