Ukraine receives 9th EU macro-financial assistance tranche for EUR 1.5 billion

Ukraine has received the ninth tranche of EUR 1.5 billion in the framework of large-scale macro-financial assistance (MFA) from the EU for 2023.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In 2023, the state budget of Ukraine received already EUR 15 billion of a MFA preferential loan from the EU.

According to the current program, in 2023, financing in the total volume of up to EUR 18 billion is provided.

MFA is provided on unprecedented preferential terms and is directed to finance priority expenditures of the state budget of Ukraine.

The loan repayment period is 35 years, and interest and other payments for servicing the loan will be compensated by the EU instead of Ukraine.

Within the framework of the mentioned program, two more tranches are expected until the end of 2023, taking into account the level of fulfillment by Ukraine of the structural policy conditions agreed by the parties.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 11, the state budget of Ukraine received a grant from the United States of America in the amount of USD 1.15 billion through the Multi-Donor Trust Fund of the World Bank.
