Trading volume on PFTS up 53% to UAH 37.4 billion in September

In September 2023, the total trading volume on the PFTS stock exchange amounted to UAH 37.4 billion (153% of the level of August 2023) or 69% of the total trading volume by securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

The PFTS stock exchange announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In January-August 2023, the total volume of trading on PFTS amounted to UAH 212.7 billion (333% of the level of the same period in 2022 or 236% of the level of 2022), which is equal to 61% of the total volume of trading of organizers of securities trading in Ukraine.

In the trading structure for September, the share of state bonds was 96.6% (UAH 36.2 billion), corporate bonds - 2.5% (UAH 0.9 billion), bonds of a foreign state - 0.9% (UAH 0.3 billion).

14% of transactions were concluded in the "application market," 73% of transactions were concluded in the "quotation market" (including address transactions), 13% of transactions were concluded in repo and auctions for the primary placement of securities modes.

In September 2023, 40 bidders at PFTS entered into transactions with 45 issues of securities (government domestic loan bonds - 33, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 7, bonds of a foreign state - 4, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 1).

In January-September of this year, 48 bidders entered into agreements with 94 issues of securities (government domestic loan bonds - 57, government foreign loan bonds - 3, shares of foreign issuers - 1, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 7, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 14, bonds of a foreign state - 12).

In September, for the third time this year, a public offering of corporate bonds took place on the Ukrainian securities market.

100,000 interest-bearing bonds of series C of NovaPay Credit LLC with a nominal value of UAH 1,000 with a maturity date of September 19, 2025 were placed on the PFTS.

The interest rate on bonds for 1-4 coupon periods is set at 20%.

Among the 31 issues of government bonds with which transactions were concluded in September, 6 issues were with repayment dates in 2023 (UAH 6.3 billion), 16 issues - with repayment dates in 2024 (UAH 10.1 billion), 5 issues - with repayment dates in 2025 (UAH 13 billion), 4 issues - with repayment dates in 2026 (UAH 5.3 billion), and 2 issues - with repayment dates in 2027 (UAH 1.5 billion).

Since July 26, the PFTS has begun trading in foreign currency denominated government domestic loan bonds.

In September 2023, the volume of exchange contracts with government bonds, executed in the currency of denomination, amounted to USD 115 million and EUR 7.6 million (12% of the total trading volume).

The PFTS stock exchange is one of the largest organizers of securities trading in Ukraine.

As of October 1, 2023, the number of PFTS stock exchange members admitted to trading was 53: 31 banks and 22 financial companies.

344 issues of securities were allowed to trade on PFTS, of which 115 issues of securities were on the exchange register.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August 2023, the trading volume on the PFTS stock exchange increased by 34% to UAH 24.4 billion month over month (UAH 18.3 billion).

Since 1997, the PFTS index has been the official index of Ukraine in the S&P Emerging Markets.
