Ukraine rises to 24th place in Worldsteel rating by volume of steel production in 8M
Ukraine rose from 25th to 24th place in the rating of the international association Worldsteel by the volume of steel production in January-August.
This follows from a statement by the Ukrmetalurgprom association, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to it, according to the results of production in January-August, Ukraine took the 24th position among 64 countries - producers of steel with a result of 4.03 million tons, which is 22.3% lower than the indicator of January-August 2022.
The first place traditionally belongs to China: Chinese metallurgists in January-August smelted 712.93 million tons of steel, which is 2.6% higher than in January-August 2022.
China's share in world steel production is 56.7%.
The second place belongs to India (production increased by 10.5% to 92.2 million tons), the third place - to Japan (it decreased by 3.8% to 58.4 million tons), the fourth place - to the USA (it decreased by 1.9% to 53.8 million tons), the fifth - to russia (decreased by 3.9% to 50.8 million tons), the sixth - to South Korea (decreased by 2.3% to 45 million tons), the seventh - to Germany (decreased by 4.2% to 24.3 million tons), the eighth - to Turkey (decreased by 12.1% to 21.6 million tons), the ninth - to Brazil (decreased by 8.3% to 21.3 million tons), the tenth - to Iran (increased by 1.1% to 19.7 million tons).
World steel production in January-August amounted to 1,256.38 million tons, which is 0.21% higher than in January-August 2022.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine took 24th place in the ranking of the international association Worldsteel in terms of steel production in 2022.
