IAEA confirms that russians mined Zaporizhzhia NPP

Mines installed by the occupiers earlier remain on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP occupied by russia. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi has said this in a statement.

“The team did not observe any heavy weapons during their walkdowns but confirmed that the previously reported mines remain in place,” the report said.

It is noted that IAEA experts visited the main control boards of power units Nos. 2, 5 and 6. They recorded that units Nos. 2 and 5 remain in the "cold" state of shutdown, and unit No. 6 - in the "hot" state of shutdown. Besides, the team visited the emergency diesel generators of power units Nos. 4 and No. 5 and bypassed the Zaporizhzhia NPP perimeter.

“Staffing levels of the plant continue to be a concern with a significant number of staff having left the ZNPP since the start of the armed conflict, including licensed operators from the main control rooms,” the IAEA said.
