Ukrainian military achieve tactical success in the Bakhmut area - ISW
Ukrainian troops achieved tactically significant successes in the Bakhmut area and continued counteroffensive operations in at least three other areas of the front on July 7, according to a daily report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in Washington.
The institute reported that geolocation data published on July 6 indicated that Ukrainian forces achieved tactically significant successes near Yahidne (2 km north of Bakhmut).
ISW analysts also recalled that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian forces conducted offensive operations north and south of Bakhmut, and the commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that Ukrainian forces had established control over previously lost positions in the Bakhmut area.
In addition, according to the report of the institute, the spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Kovaliov said that Ukrainian forces achieved partial success in the Klishchiyivka area (7 km southwest of Bakhmut), and also continue offensive operations in the west of the Zaporizhzhia Region and along the administrative border between the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk Regions.
It is noted that the Ministry of Defense of Russia and other Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces were conducting offensive operations along the border of the Kharkiv and Luhansk Regions.
