Last Week, 9,000 Citizens And Business Representatives Join Purchase Of War Bonds
Last week, 9,000 citizens and business representatives have joined the purchase of military government bonds.
The National Bank of Ukraine has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Since the beginning of the full-scale attack by Russia, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has held 38 auctions for the sale of war bonds and attracted almost UAH 77 billion, about USD 199 million, and EUR 229 million to the state budget.
As before, the largest portfolio of war bonds is concentrated among banks - primary dealers.
At the same time, the demand of the population and business of Ukraine for the relevant securities continues to grow.
In particular, over the past week the number of depositors among them increased from 67,000 to almost 76,000.
As of May 30, 2022, the volume of investments of Ukrainian citizens and businesses in military bonds is:
- UAH 7.8 billion (10% of the total volume of purchased military government bonds denominated in hryvnias);
- USD 57.4 million (29% of the total amount of military government bonds denominated in dollars);
- EUR 26.6 million (11.7% of the total government bonds denominated in euros).
Non-residents own military bonds worth UAH 300.4 million.
Today, anyone can join the purchase of military government bonds and thus support the financial defense of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 22, 2022, the National Bank began publishing statistics from the NBU depositary on war bonds on a weekly basis.
