NBU Transfers UAH 12.6 Billion For Needs Of Military, UAH 51 Million Remaining On Special Account
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has transferred almost UAH 12.6 billion for the needs of the military, with UAH 51 million remaining on the special account.
The NBU has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
As of March 22, 2022, the balance of funds on the special account that the National Bank opened to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine is almost UAH 51 million.
In general, the National Bank has already transferred more than UAH 12.6 billion for the needs of the military, in particular:
- for the needs of the National Guard of Ukraine - a total of UAH 950 million (February 26, 2022 - UAH 450 million; March 06, 2022 - UAH 500 million);
- for the needs of the National Police of Ukraine - a total of UAH 1,650 million (February 28, 2022 - UAH 150 million; March 03, 2022 - UAH 700 million; March 06, 2022 - UAH 800 million);
- for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine - UAH 9,015 million in total;
- for the needs of the State Border Guard Service - a total of UAH 980.2 million (March 03, 2022 - UAH 420 million; March 11, 2022 - UAH 300 million; March 12, 2022 - UAH 106.2 million; March 14, 2022 - UAH 154 million).
In total, since the opening of the special account, more than UAH 12.7 billion in equivalent have been transferred to it.
In particular, almost UAH 3.7 billion in equivalent came from abroad in foreign currency (US dollars, euros, pounds, Canadian dollars, Chinese renminbi, Japanese yen, Swiss francs, Polish zlotys, Australian dollars).
Funds came from both citizens and enterprises in Ukraine, and from the international community (including from the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Finland, China, France, Canada, Australia and many countries of the world).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Bank opened a special multi-currency account to help the Ukrainian army.
